The Doors' guitarist Robby Krieger has reached a deal to sell his rights to the band's music catalog.

But rather than take in a massive windfall like so many other famous musicians have, Krieger and the estate of late-keyboardist Ray Manzarek arranged for the deal with Primary Wave to benefit charity.

Variety reports that the terms of the deal were not disclosed, but sources assured the publication that the numbers were "big."

The Doors catalog includes immortal hits, like "Light My Fire," "Break on Through (To the Other Side," "Hello, I Love You," "People Are Strange," "Riders on the Storm," "L.A. Woman" and many more.

"After 58 years, and the most magical of times, I've decided to sell my share of the Doors to Primary Wave," Krieger said in a statement. "This will enable me to help the many charities I've been involved with and some new ones, too. I know Primary Wave cares about music, art and about helping legacies go to even bigger levels."

The guitarist added that adding to his comfort with the future of his music, The Doors' longtime manager, Jeff Jampol, will be working with Primary Wave to look out for the band's interests.

Manzarek's widow, Dorothy, added that her family has been carefully considering its options since Ray's death in 2013, "...we are happy to have finally come to an agreement with Primary Wave."

Primary Wave CEO & Founder Larry Mestel called The Doors "one of the most legendary bands of all time" and pledged to "tastefully grow opportunities" for the band.

While The Doors continued into the 2000s with different iterations, the band's original lineup was only active from 1965 to Morrison's death in 1971.
