The Killers And Nine Inch Nails Are Featured In 'Song Exploder' Volume Two

On Tuesday (December 1), podcast-turned-show Song Exploder teased its second volume of episodes with a trailer starring its featured artists: Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Dua Lipa, and Natalia Lafourcade.

“That’s me not knowing who I was anymore. I felt alone," NIN frontman Trent Reznor said in the clip, recalling his feelings while writing the band's hit song "Hurt. "When I finished it, I think I said ‘I’m sorry.’ Then it exploded unexpectedly.”

Later, The Killers revealed how “those first three chords awakened us,” while working on their "deeply personal" song "When You Were Young."

Creator Hrishikesh Hirway shared why he decided to turn his podcast into a docuseries in a statement. “I first interviewed Trent Reznor for a Nine Inch Nails episode of the podcast back in 2017, and afterwards, as I was packing up my microphone and laptop, he asked me, ‘Have you ever thought about making this into a TV show?’" he said. "It was just a glimmer of an idea back then. I'm so excited that it’s come to life, and I get to share four more episodes of the series with these beloved artists. They're all so different from one another in terms of sound and background, and I can't wait for people to see and hear their stories, and the unique path they each took to create these songs.”

The new episodes are set to premiere on Netflix on December 15. Watch the trailer above.
